The banquet will be at the building at the park it is named the Scout. This building will be open all day and it has two bathrooms. The building also contains windows on the river side to watch the race from. Kevin from the Barn Tavern has rented it and will have it open all day. He will have powerade, powerbars, candy bars and stuff for the kids at the concession stand inside the Boy Scout building. They will be also serving sloppy joes during the day for all racers and spectators. The banquet will start shortly after everyone finishes the C-2 race. Kevin from the barn will have an assortment of food and there will be a sale of two hotdogs, bag of chips and a pop for $2.50!
Jaycee Park
Located on East River Street at Franklin. (See attached PDF map) The park has a picnic area under a pavilion, play areas and volleyball courts. It is also connected to the Grand Ledge River Path. The River Path is a beautiful 1.5 mile trail which displays the outstanding sandstone ledges on both sides of the river. Spectators can watch the racers go around Island Park and the railroad bridge by following the River Path.
With the beautiful location, concessions and easy access to watch the racers start and finish, we hope that not only do a lot of paddlers show up but their families as well.
