C1 and C2 Races

Schedule of Events
Saturday, May 14:
C-1 race starts at 5:30 pm.
C-1 race (same course as last year) begins at 638 Hwy./Errat Rd. south of Onaway about a mile. The road is called Errat west of the river and 638 east of the river and you can reach the road by traveling south on either Black River Rd. (turn east on Errat) or M-33 (turn west on 638). Race is time trial format. Begin at the bridge, paddle down to a buoy in Tower Pond at M-68, return upstream to Black River Rd. (where the C-2 race turns around). Winning time will be around 50 minutes. Prize money $500. Entry fee - $10
Sunday, May 15:
C-2 races start at 10:30 am.
Expert 1 & 2 starts and finishes at the boat launch on Tower pond behind the softball field and town hall/fire hall on M-68 in Tower. Same course as last year: A loop on Tower pond, portage Tower Dam (300 yds), paddle to the end of Kleber Pond, turn back and portage Tower Dam again (still 300 yds), paddle to M-68 Hwy., portage road, paddle up to Black River Rd., return downstream, portage road again and finish at the starting line. Expert II will have a shorter course with only two portages. Winning time around 1:45. Prize money $1000. Entry fee - $20

There will once again be a banquet by donation after the race at the Tower Hall on M-68 near the start. The registration will be there again as well.
